・1. How to choose an internal SSD
When you choose an internal SSD for a PC, what should you consider? Following are a guide to choose an SSD.

・1-1. Capacity
Generally internal SSDs cost more with larger capacities. Therefore, it is important to choose the one with suitable capacity.

If you use a PC with Windows OS, even only OS and other necessary software require about 20GB. Also, considering there are more coming updates, it is important to select an SSD with extra capacity.

When using an SSD as “C drive” where OS is stored, choosing an SSD with more than 128GB is recommended, considering updates. If you use it for storing movies and games, an SSD with more than 500GB is suitable.

・1-2. Connection types and size
There are several connection types, such as “SATA” and “M.2” for an SSD. Depending on connection types, the connection method varies; for example, some SSD is connected with a PC by cable, and the other is connected with a motherboard directly. In some cases, even the read/write speed may be different as well.

In addition, the size of an SSD differs among the connection types, like 2.5 inch or mSATA. So let’s check which connection type your PC uses before purchase.

・1-3. Durability
SSDs store data in a storage element called “NAND flash memory”. Recently, “3D NAND flash” is mainly used since it can increase the capacity.

NAND flash memory is subdivided into SLC, MLC, and TLC, and each has different durability. Generally SLC is considered to be the most durable however it is too expensive to everyday use. It is better to choose MLC or TLC since these have a good balance of price, capacity, and durability.

・2. Our recommended internal HDDs
・2-1. Internal SSD with replacement kit, comes with HDD case, 480GB [LMD-SS480KU3]
Complete kit for replacing an internal HDD in your PC with an SSD. An HDD case and USB cable are attached, so that the removed HDD can be used as an external HDD or even using as an external SSD is possible. Also, you can use both as a replacement kit and as an external storage for PS4® and PS4® Pro.

・2-2. Internal SSD, 2.5inch, SATA, 480GB [LMD-SAB480]
A 2.5inch internal SSD complying with SATA connection. NTFS format is applied. Ready to use. Since 100% inspection has done before shipment, you can use it at ease.

・2-3. Internal SSD with DRAM, M.2, NVMe, 512GB [LMD-MPDB512]
High speed and high durability. Comply with M.2 and NVMe. With DRAM cache, the maximum reading speed is 3400MB/s, and writing speed is 2400MB/s.
Since NTFS format has been done, it is ready to use.

・2-4. Internal SSD, M.2, NVMe, 512GB [LMD-MPB512]
This internal SSD comply with NVMe, which can transfer data at high speed.
Since NTFS format has been done, it is ready to use. The maximum reading speed is 2050MB/s, and writing speed is 1200MB/s.

・Summary Choose a suitable internal SSD
There are many internal SSDs with different capacities and connection types. Since an internal SSD is supposed to be used for a long time especially once it is used as a replacement for the internal storage, let’s choose an internal SSD that suits your purpose.
